How do you install NOw Assit plugins

To install ServiceNow Now Assist plugins, follow these steps

 

1. Ensure prerequisites are met:

   

   - You have the "admin" role.

   - Your instance is licensed for Now Assist.

   - At least one Now Assist application entitlement is available from the ServiceNow Store.

 

2. Navigate to:

   "Now Assist Admin > Settings > Plugins"

 

3. Review the available plugins under the Available for you tab.

 

4. Click Get plugins for the required Now Assist product (example: Now Assist for ITSM, HRSD, Creator, etc.).

 

5. This redirects you to the ServiceNow Store:

   

   - Click Get / Install

   - Some plugins may require entitlement approval first.

 

6. Return to the instance and refresh plugin availability:

   

   - "System Applications > All Available Applications > All"

   - Click Refresh

 

7. Search for the Now Assist plugin and install it.

 

8. After installation:

   

   - Return to Now Assist Admin

   - Refresh the page

   - Enable the required skills/features from the Features tab.

 

Additional Notes:

 

- Some Now Assist capabilities are not available on PDIs because licensing is required.

- AI Search and Workspace experiences are commonly required for full functionality.

- Data quality (especially KB articles and catalog content) greatly impacts Now Assist results.

Useful insight:

 

- Now Assist is generally not available on free PDIs and requires licensing/entitlements.

- Many implementations recommend cleaning up KB data before rollout to improve AI response quality.

To Install Now Assist plugin-  Cost approval requires entitling the plugin for your Servicenow  Instance (Even for Sub-prod) and syncing it via the Application Manager before installation from Servicenow Store.

 

Install Now Assist plugins to enable generative AI on your instance.

Before you begin

Role required: admin

Follow these instructions to get started with Now Assist Admin:

  1. To get started with Now Assist, you must install at least one Now Assist application on your instance.
  2. Activate any Now Assist plugin from the ServiceNow Store to access Now Assist Admin.
  3. Install additional plugins, from the Now Assist Admin console.
  4. The Now Assist Admin console guides your implementation, starting with installation.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Now Assist Admin > Settings.

    If you’re already in Now Assist Admin, select the Settings tab.

  2. On the Settings page, select Plugins.

    Plugins appear as cards. Review all Now Assist plugins on the Available for you tab. Plugins that you have already installed appear on the Installed tab.

  3. Select Get plugins on the card for the plugin that you want to install.
  4. In the confirmation window, select Install Plugin to open the ServiceNow Store page for the plugin in a new browser tab.
  5. Install the plugin from the ServiceNow Store page.

    Some applications may require you to request the app from the ServiceNow® Store first. After you've requested the application from the ServiceNow® Store page, navigate to All > System Applications > All Available Applications > All to finish the installation.

  6. Return to the Now Assist Admin console.
  7. In the dialog box, select Refresh.
  8. Either close the dialog box to review all of your plugins or select View all (Plugin) Assists and Skills to review the features of your new plugin.

Result

Your plugin is successfully installed.
