I work for an MSP and we are using Service Bridge for Providers.
While doing Service Bridge incident integration unit testing with a consumer in our subprod instances, the consumer's Incident and remote task started posting this error message in the work notes:
Parent task update failed on the instance etdev for the following reason:
Operation against file 'incident' was aborted by Business Rule 'Transport Queue Inbound Monitor^693bdcd2935e2e501946f8a56aba10db'. Business Rule Stack:Transport Queue Inbound Monitor,Manage Remote Task Inbound,Abort changes on group
It also posted across to the work notes in my Provider-side Remote task from the consumers Service Bridge Integrator user.
This happened on several incidents after about 5 minutes of testing.
Before I open a case with ServiceNow support, has any one else run into this error message with Service Bridge for Consumers?
Thank you!

Hi there,
I’ve seen this error before. The issue usually occurs when the update attempts to change the assignment group on the target (consumer) instance. It’s being blocked by the out-of-the-box Business Rule on the Incident table called “Abort changes on group.”
That BR prevents updates when the assignment group is changed but the currently assigned user is not a member of the new group.
Hope this helps!
