I have started preparing for the CSA exam, and I sometimes find it hard to follow the labs in the ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals On Demand (Xandau). So I would appreciate suggestions on how to do them effectively so I can understand the concepts without spending too much time on it (I am also using PDI to practice what I learn, but I think I am spending way too much time in each lab)

You have probably started your journey with service-now seems. CSA labs are not that tough.
There is no shortcut to this, the time you are spending here is more of investment.
Please mark the answer correct/helpful accordingly.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the labs are not necessarily tough; they are pretty simple, but they can get confusing. Because sometimes I have to do them more than once to get the reflection.

Hi @Tasnia21
You can’t perform the end-to-end labs in a PDI, as lab instances come with more plugins and features than a standard PDI. However, if you just want to practice, you can still try it out and see where you’re facing challenges.
Tips for the CSA Exam (Certified System Administrator)
CSA is the first and foundational exam in your ServiceNow journey. Here are some tips to help you prepare effectively:
-
Study the training material thoroughly – Go through it line by line, word by word, at least 2–3 times.
-
Practice the labs multiple times – Do each lab 3–4 times. Don’t just complete them; carefully read and understand the instructions as well.
-
Follow the official eBook – Review it thoroughly at least 2–3 times to reinforce your understanding.
-
Consider supplementary courses – Some candidates have found Udemy courses helpful for additional practice and clarity.
-
Watch my experience video – I’ve shared my own preparation journey and tips here:
Good luck on your CSA journey!
