"No roles added": SNPI Story 1 - Build a Scoped HHD Application FAILED

I did all the parts of the task correctly but still "flunked" the task. It's telling me that I didn't create the "admin" and "user" roles even though they it appears that I did. I followed the instructions, as shown below, but it's still telling me I didn't add the roles.
I opened the application menu and added the roles afterward, but I still am getting a "failed validation" result saying I didn't add the roles.
What could be going on? How can I fix the supposed error?

In the exercise for SNPI Story 1 – Build a Scoped HHD Application you likely passed through the UI and created roles but the validation tool is checking exact names under the Scoped App > Roles section of the application manifest, so double check that you have created hhd_admin and hhd_user (exact spelling, lower case, no extra spaces), that they’re linked to your scoped application, and that the version has been saved and published before re running the validation.......it’s common to forget linking the roles to the roles tab under application definition so the validator can’t detect them........
