Welcome to a new adventure in learning

A new approach to learning is coming to ServiceNow. The Now Learning community-created content program is on the horizon. This is going to be something you will want to incorporate into your ServiceNow learning plan. The Now Learning community-created content program will give you the ability to learn from our greatest resource at ServiceNow - our community. You might have experienced the benefits of getting your questions answered in one of our ServiceNow Community forums. Now Learning wants you to be able to leverage the same benefits in how you learn and grow.

This blog entry gets you started with the Now Learning community-created content program. It includes our vision statement and program goals. It also explains why you are vital to its success.

Vision statement

Community-created content makes the world of Now Learning work better through people.

We bring the knowledge and experience of our ServiceNow community members to Now Learning for all to share.

Wherever you are on your ServiceNow journey, we want you to recognize the benefits of connecting with, learning from, and being inspired by your community.

Charter

The charter of the community-created content program is to connect you with ServiceNow community members holding the knowledge you need to achieve your goals. How we focus our learning together will largely be guided by what topics community members request. We aim to diversify and extend the existing Now Learning catalog to fill in any gaps you think are important. We also want to elevate our community member's voices to reward their skills and increase their visibility in the field.

Creating a community learning culture

Some of the ideas behind the community-created content program took root during the development of the Now Learning course ServiceNow Platform Implementation on demand. We thought it would be awesome to have community members from the field teach their fellow implementers how they create successful customer outcomes.

Therefore, a team of four ServiceNow Certified Master Architects (CMAs) – the highest level of ServiceNow certification available - was assembled as course instructors. Each of them had been involved with the ServiceNow community for 8-11 years. All of them were excited to share their knowledge and experience with community members ready to learn.

To get to know these four CMAs better, we asked each of them what they loved about being a part of the ServiceNow community. We figured with their experience, they would have a good view of how our community interacts and how it might compare to others. What was interesting (and very significant) was all four of them had the same answer. The thing they loved the most about the ServiceNow community is how we work together and share information.

Here at Now Learning, we wanted to ensure the hallmarks of our unique ServiceNow culture were also incorporated in how we learn and grow as a community. Therefore, we set out to create a learning program that would value and mirror these same principles, allowing all of us to learn together and share our knowledge. It does not matter if you are a CMA or just getting started learning ServiceNow. Each of us will be a valuable part of the program with important knowledge to contribute.

Flex your superpowers

So, how do you fit into the community-created content program? You have a collection of unique experiences and talents. When woven together, they allow you to achieve things and connect with people in a way no one else can. The same intersectionality that makes you valuable, makes your knowledge valuable. That is why YOU are critical to our Now Learning community.

Whatever your role or level of experience, you have something amazing to contribute. It might be an industry focus, cross-product integration, or how to approach regulatory requirements. Even if you are just beginning your ServiceNow learning journey, you might know the tips or tricks just introduced in a new release others are not aware of yet. Or maybe you know someone who has the information needed and would be willing to share it with the community. There will also be opportunities to provide input and help guide our efforts. We need you!

We are all in this together. The success of our learning community brings success to us all. Keep your eyes open as we begin to have more information to share. Better yet, start the discussion now by telling us what you think of the Now Learning community-created content program so far in the comments below. We would love to hear from you.

We are at the beginning of something unique. Hopefully, this new way to learn will help you super-charge your learning goals. All of us at Now Learning look forward to sharing the journey ahead together.
