Can you provide more clarity around your question.

10+ Tips for writing a quality community question

Hi @Brian Lancaster ,

We understand that in CI Class Manager, we have the option to mark an entire class as “Principal,” which makes all CIs in that class visible in the CI field on ITSM forms. However, our requirement is slightly different — we want only specific CIs within a class to be marked as Principal so that only those selected CIs appear in the CI field on ITSM forms. Could you please confirm if this is possible and suggest the best approach to achieve it?

Hope you can understand my ask now!!

I don't think that is possible out of the box. I'm not sure why you would want to do that as that would limit what CI are available. As long as it is an Operational CI  as per the CSDM you should be able to use it as a CI.

There is no OOTB option available.

As a workaround, you can create a flag in CMDB CI table so that it is available on all CIs.

You can use this flag as filter similar to Principle CI class filter.

Thank you,
