CIM - Better Filtering for Scalability

I'm using the continuous improvement module to manage improvement efforts, and other departments now want to start using the module within our instance.

 

I'm finding it difficult to picture scaling this to more teams as the only filtering options other than statuses are by CIM coordinator - is there other ways folks have used to quickly view a subset of ideas either submitted and/or managed by different departments?  

 

perhaps by filtering by CIM coordinators default group?  or having a custom field in the form to select which team is supporting the initiative and filter by them?
