Does ServiceNow support Business Change (RFC)

We have implemented IT Change Management in ServiceNow, our customers have a business change process outside of ServiceNow.

We now wish to bring that process into ServiceNow, I have searched old articles and there does not seem to be an Out of the box solution to this.

The suggestion is that the RFC is a change request, which would mean tagging life cycle steps at the start of the IT change process? I can see issues with this as not all IT changes are RFC driven.

Any discussion/suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi @johnrob18

This is a big topic and need to look at the details to do a fit analysis so that we can determine which should go through change management process.

There are very good articles on this topic. Please check below articles to correlate the scenarios you are facing.

Servicenow supports different types of change types to drive the life cycle accordingly. For example, server patching can be a standard which do not require approval which has defined steps for implementation and a proven success earlier. As per ITIL methodology, change management comes into the picture when some changes are planned to execute on existing systems/applications/processes to make sure proper risk analysis along with the business value preposition.
