Virtual Agent Check IT Ticket Status Topic Query - How to change from SC_REQ_ITEM to SC_REQUEST

You are implementing phase 1 of Virtual Agent shortly and one of the topics we have duplicated is the Check IT Ticket Status Topic.

This topic targets tickets from the Incident (incident) and requested Items (sc_req_item) tables.

However instead of targeting sc_req_items we want to target the actual service request and therefore target the request table (sc_request). I wonder if this will have been asked before and I wondered whether there is a modified topic that covers this amendment or if not how easy it is to do? Could anybody help?
