Definition of a Zoom:
The different zoom levels are used to define how your campus, or your different buildings will be displayed in
your different modules: overview, location directory, reservation management.
You can also decide the zoom entry level when your campuses or buildings first opens.
Entering zoom:
Entering zoom is used to know at which zoom level your interactive maps will appear in all locations where the map
is used.
Generally, the entering zoom is automatically set to 15, but you can increase or decrease it depending on the size of your campus. To do this, you need to go from your instance to Map Studio. When in Map Studio, click on the Campus where you want to make your change and then click on "Manage Location" and then "Campus and Building".
To learn more about Campuses and Buildings you can read this article: Map Studio Guide
Once on the campus & building tab select the three small dots on the side of the name of your campus and from there you will access to edit the name, the title and the entering zoom that you will be able to adjust. Note that the minimum is 10 and the maximum 23 (if it does not update automatically do not hesitate to reload the page).
You also have the possibility of adjusting entering zoom on your different buildings. It is the same process as for the campus, click on the three small points next to your building’s name.
However, we recommend that you not touch the entering zoom as it has been set automatically to allow a better reading experience.
Zoom Configuration:
The zoom configuration will define the opening of your building when you select it in the overview but also in WSD (Workplace Service Delivery). To set this zoom you must go to your view editor in Map Studio.
To learn more about the View Editor please refer to this article: How to use the View Editor.
In the list shown in the View editor, select Buildings the select the building where you want to change the zoom level.
Scroll down the list and you will find the configuration zoom with its different configurations:
Min zoom/ Max zoom: The Min/Max level is the same as on entering zoom 10-23 if you want to be able to zoom out
to the maximum or also zoom in to the maximum so that your building appears all the time, we recommend that you leave the default configuration of 10-23
Default zoom: The default zoom allows you to control the zoom of your building in the overview and in WSD when
you select it in the basic configuration the default zoom is 18 which is the minimum, but you can increase it to 23
Default bearing: The default bearing allows you to control the position of your building up to 180° in your overview
or in WSD its default setting is 0.
Default pitch: The default pitch allows you to control the inclination of your building up to 60° at the level of its apparition in your overview or in WSD its basic configuration by default is on 0.
Once you have configured all your different zoom levels click on save the view; you have the possibility to configure different buildings in the View Editor. These edits will be visible in WSD instantly as soon as the edits are saved.
