How can we manage schedules for a specific WSD Space that enable it to be reservable on certain days, but assigned on other days?

We are intended to leverage the Workplace Service Delivery Suite, including interactive floor plans, reservations for desks and spaces, and recurring reservations.  Our use cases include a wide variety of desk and workspaces - including ones that are assigned to a single person, ones that are assigned to a small group of people, or ones that are available for reservation to people from a specific group or division.  We have been leveraging the Reservable Module functionality to limit who can reserve what desks or spaces.

A use case has been presented that I am unable to find a solution for using the WSD:

1. An office, 123, is used every Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday by the same user, all day.  This user should have recurring reservation set up that will keep space 123 reserved on each of those days, for multiple months.

2. Office 123 is available to be reserved by other staff members on Thursday and/or Friday.

We want to be able to set a schedule specific for that location (or a collection of locations with similar situations), with spaces managed by divisions within the company, who organize who has access to what spaces, and when that access is needed.

I tried setting up the Shift functionality, but that does not seem to fit the use case Out of the Box - it manages for the person in point 1, but doesn't seem to enable the desk to be reserved the other days in point 2.

Hi there - unfortunately, I have not found a way to do this.  I haven't gotten any input or feedback on this since I asked.

 

But Google did suggest I look at my own posting when I searched a similar problem we are still trying to solve.

I have not found a solution to this yet, and I haven't heard any suggestions from ServiceNow teams.  I brought it up at Knowledge23 to some of the experts and got a "hmmm that sounds like an interesting case" response, but nothing has come of it at this time.

 

Currently, we are managing this by making long-term reservations for staff who use the rooms a few days a week so it can't be reserved, but this is a decidedly manual process, and I would love suggestions for other approaches.

We are trying to solve a similar problem so I hope you get an answer soon.  The leadership team wants us to create restricted areas that can only be reserved by specific groups on specific days of the week.  We can control where they reserve a space using neighborhoods but havent had any luck with the when they can reserve part

Hey @jlynch23 , did you get anywhere with this? Were going through the same thing now, trying to find a way to have an assigned desk working with shifts. At present, random desks are assigned on shift which we dont need.
