Identify Special Users on Reservation Map

Hey Everyone,

We have a request from our Safety team, to have a way to identify users via the reservation map who have training in things like First Aid.

I've been looking at options but can't seem to make one work, and was wondering if others have had similar issues or ideas on how to implement.  We haven't been using the location map, just the reservation map, and would like to keep it all in one tool. The idea being if I need to find a first aid person quickly, opening the Reservation map to the building/floor I could see who has reserved a space and if they might be a first aider so we can find them quickly.

The ideas I've come up with; (not I created an entry in the idea portal as well for this, but hoping that someone else might have designed something already.)

1) Use the Prefix in the sys_user table to identify a user as a First Aider. The problem is that this portion while in the Sys_User table, doesn't show in the reservation portal, in the space details card or the view to see who reserved a space instead of the desk/office number. I'd need to find a way for this to work and be search able in the tool to quickly find someone.

2)  Create a special colour for a desk/space reservation such as blue, when a user books a space who has been listed as a first aider, instead of the desk showing Red as reserved, it would show blue (or another colour), to quickly identify that user as a first aider. This would work great, but haven't found a way to modify/add additional colours to the map, and would need to find a way to bridge it with the user information to correct identify users when they reserve a space.

3) When using the map option to view desk that have been reserved, and browse near by, you get the image/bubble pic for the user, we could adjust this bubble to be indicate that the user is a first aider, but this adds additional time to the search process for the user, they would only be able to use the browse near a person, and they would need to also know who to search for, this is to many steps when looking for someone quickly.

In our hybrid environment we have some users with permanent assigned desks, users that are in the office 80% of the time, all other users are hybrid and book desk as needed. So the solution has to be dynamic, that's why I've started looking at connecting the Sys_user Profile with the Reservation tool in some way to maintain the information.

If anyone has any ideas or have thought of something similar please let me know.

It shouldn't be necessary to use the desks at all. Searching for someone with first aid through the reservation system is not very efficient. You look for them, then go to the desk and find out the desk is abandoned, because they are in a meeting somewhere else, stepped out for lunch or even went home already without signing out. Then you need to search again, and again, until you find someone, while someone is really hurting.

You should have process that just checks for any first aider in the building, so you know who are in and who you can call right away. Maybe just a portal page showing who is in, with their phone number, so they can be called in case of an emergency. You could link it to any of these users making reservations, but you shouldn't rely on the desk reservations as a search option for someone with first aid.

Thanks, I agree with your assessment, but currently this is our best option to helping to know where people should be. Our company setup doesn't allow for quick access to access data, we do not have a connection with swipe data or occupancy sensors. This would allow us to have at least a basic understanding on where staff who may have special training is sitting for the day.
