Issue Configuring WSD Workplace Central Workspace Space Optimization Landing Page

I need help with the WSD Workplace Central workspace, specifically the Space Optimization landing page. Debugging doesn't seem to provide much help.

How do I configure the widgets to display data?

 

When I open the Workplace Central workspace, the Space Optimization page opens the Out-of-Box (OOB) filters and widgets with "No data available" for the 4 widgets. It turns out that I had to create a variant in to places to

I would expect that the OOB widgets would already have data but they don't:

I clicked the +Add data source button on the right side. I don't understand any of the options presented:

As an example, what is the data source of User Experience Analytics > Sessions > Application (Flow Designer UI)?

As another example, when I selected the "Space utilization by dept" widget the first time, the data source quickly flashed "Utilization vs. Capacity" then disappeared"

I tried clicking the Data pill in the lower left corner:

That gave me the option to add data resources but not guidance what to add.

 

Since I attempting to configure the Space Optimization widgets, I tried filtering by "Space" but the Data resources section still presented limited OOB options:

Are there no OOB options to display data for these OOB widgets?

 

How do I display data in the 4 OOB Space Optimization landing page widgets?

I thought that I found the answer: run the "Workplace Analytics Space Management report data generation" scheduled job. I got closer but it still doesn't display as expected.

Hi MGanon, The data on this dashboard (Space Optimisation) comes from the table "Utilization Vs Capacity (sn_wsd_spcmgmt_utilization_capacity)". Populate data in this table and you will see data in the widgets. What populates data in this table is the scheduled job "Workplace Analytics Space Management report data generation". In production we expect this job to be scheduled every day. This job calculates capacity and utilisation for every day for all combinations of (1) space levels (region, site, campus, building, floor, area) and (2) cost center/department/entity hierarchy and populates the table for all these combinations. Capacity is calcualted in hours based on reservation hours (reservation start time and end time) and utilisation is calculated based on how many hours the space was reserved. The other configurations (data sources etc) are useful if you want to modify(add/edit/remove widgets) the dashboard. To populate data on the OOB dashboard, use the above table and the scheduled job. Hope this helps. 

The table is populating data but the widgets still do not display data.
