WSD ACLs - workplace maintenance case ACL not working

Hi all,
I am facing a very weird problem. I have an ACL (OOTB) on the sn_wsd_case_workplace_case which will allow users with sn_wsd_core.workplace_user role to write Additional Comments on their cases. Noticed that users cannot write comments on the sn_wsd_maintenance_case cases, I thought as this table is extended from sn_wsd_case_workplace_case , those ACL would work, but they don't (maybe because of the app scope?). Anyways, I created an ACL for the additional comments field on the sn_wsd_maintenance_case table. Same conditions, user has the workplace user role, opened by (dynamic me) OR requested for (dynamic me). Yet, that ACL is not working.
I ran the analyze permission tool, it fails to write on the additional comments field even though the ACL is there and the user has the required role.
WSD, specially for maintenance has given me a lot of problems, so many things you would think normally comes up OOTB are not.
Anybody can provide some help?

I think I should clarify, same ACL type on the sn_wsd_case_workplace_case allows the user to post commments, but not on the maintenance case table
