WSD Location Directory: Occupancy details, person assigned to desk, and printing or exporting map

Hello,

We have requirements to implement additional features on WSD location directory. Please see below requirements:

1) Currently, the Location Directory only displays the Desk ID on the map. Users need to click the Desk ID in order to see who assigned to it. We would like the Location Directory to display the name of the person assigned to the desk rather than the Desk ID.

2) We would like the ability to see which desks are occupied and which desks are available for reservation on the Location Directory map.

3) The ability to Export the Location Directory. Currently, users are just doing screen shots of the Location Directory map.

Please let me know if anyone has worked on similar requirements before or have any idea on how to achieve this, that would be very helpful.

Hi @soumyagupta,

1) Navigate to All > Space Mapping > Map properties. Select the edit page option on the Map properties page. Select Enable display of permanent seat assignments on map (sn_wsd_space_map.display_seat_assignment).

Users can personalize display options in Location Directory as follows:

2) Ensure the Assignment Type field is correctly populated for your Workstations (permanent vs flex), and Reservable = True for flex Workstations that you want available for reservation. Available desks are usually Green and Occupied/Reserved desks are usually red or grey. This is typically enabled by default, but check the "Desk Reservation Status" map layer is configured in the portal widget.

3) There is no native, out-of-the-box feature that allows you to directly export the interactive map view to a file (PDG, JPEG, etc.), but you can export the underlying data. Screenshots are the most common and quick way. You can develop custom export functionality, but that's a more hairy discussion.
