Add a business process to a goal

Associate business processes with goals to map how your organization's processes support strategic objectives.

About this task

Link business processes to goals to document which processes contribute to achieving specific strategic objectives. You can add existing business processes or create new ones directly from the goal record.

Procedure

1. Navigate to Workspaces > Enterprise Architecture Workspace.
2. Open the Portfolio List view by selecting the Portfolio icon ().
3. Expand the Business Architecture section by selecting the expand row icon () next to Business Architecture.
4. Select Goals.
5. Select the goal that you want to add a business process to.
6. Select the Business processes tab.
7. Add a business process using one of the following methods.
   • To add an existing business process:
     1. Select Add.
     2. In the Add business process window, select the business process and the relationship type between the business process and the goal.
     3. Select Add.
   • To create a business process, select New and complete the fields on the form. For field descriptions, see Create business process form.

Result

The business process appears in the Business processes related list.
