Can you use group approval for a project?

Within our company, we want to start working with project mgt in SPM.

Before a project goes from the planning phase to the execution phase it needs to pass one or more approval boards.

I did some research in nowcreate, product documentation of SNOW & the SNOW community and the only thing I found was that the idea is that once a demand is approved, there is no need to add approval steps to a project.

I don't agree on this but that's another discussion.…

So I’m looking for a way to make this happen in PPM in the most efficient way:

1. I could create an action that is assigned to a member of this board. It’s picked up by the assignee under ‘My Work’. He/she approves or rejects and the result is shown in the action tab of the project.
   Additional advantage: the action is nicely mentioned in the status report that a project lead is generating on regular basis.
2. A colleague however proposed to work with ‘group approval’. I tried it out creating an assignment group, creating a group approval with that assignment group, put the status on ‘requested’ but I can’t figure out what happens next once you push the submit button.
   Can someone enlighten me on this?
3. Another efficient way of working that I haven’t discovered yet….

Could you help me please because I’m stuck for the moment.
