I have a question about the CMDB - CI Class: Scanner. This class is a child table from Imaging Hardware, and this is part of the Configuration Item Class. I'm wondering why the Scanner Class is separate and not a child class of the general Hardware Class because there we have OOTB the attribute Hardware Status which is relevant for the Asset Management synchronization. The Hardware Status is missing in the Imaging Hardware Class and logically also in the Scanner Class. So when i for example add a child class Barcode Scanner to the Scanner class the Hardware Status is missing.
What is the main reason for this classification? Is it and idea to move the whole Imaging Hardware Class under the Hardware Class? Is there a guide how to move Classes or make them to a child Class?
