Hello, everyone.
You can set multiple model categories for a single CMDB model. As stated in the documentation, it is possible to automatically create an asset when a CI matching that CMDB model is discovered.
However, I couldn't find information on which model category takes precedence when multiple categories are configured. Specifically, when an asset is automatically created upon CI discovery, which "CI-to-Asset Class" mapping is used among the multiple options?
Since model categories can have parent-child relationships, it's unclear which relationship the system focuses on and which candidate is prioritized. Does anyone have more information or insights on this logic?

Hi, Everyone.
Based on my testing within a PDI (Personal Developer Instance), I found that the "Model Category" value populated during automatic asset creation is the one that directly specifies the target CI. In other words, relationships such as the parent-child structure I previously asked about, or Model Categories that do not directly specify a CI, have no relevance whatsoever to the automatic creation of assets.
regards.

The specific CI Class of the CI/record determines the mapping. On the model category record there is mapping for CI Class and Asset Class.

Thanks, @jonsan09 .
As you mentioned, it is possible to associate a single CI with a Model Category. However, as shown in the first image below, it is also possible to associate only an Asset without linking a CI.
Question: In this state, if multiple models are associated as shown in the second image, which value will be populated in the Model Category field of the asset when it is automatically created?
Furthermore, if a parent-child relationship is created as shown in the third image and configured in the model, which value will be populated in the Model Category field of the asset when it is automatically generated? As an example, the fourth image displays 'Computer' being configured in the Model Category field.
