Question:
I have a requirement to populate four group fields on all CIs that belong to Principal CI Classes:
- Approval Group
- Change Group
- Support Group
- Managed By Group
The source of truth should be the related Service Offering. The Service Offering records are already populated with the correct four groups.
Example:
- Principal CI Class: Linux Server [cmdb_ci_linux_server]
- Service Offering: Linux
I need all CIs in cmdb_ci_linux_server to inherit the four group values from the Linux Service Offering.
I checked the Service Offering related lists for Configuration Items, CMDB Groups, and Dynamic CI Groups, but there are no populated Dynamic CI Group relationships for the offering.
What is the recommended OOB approach to associate a Principal CI Class with a Service Offering and synchronize these four group fields to all CIs in that class?
