below docs link says the kubernetes CI classes will be added via the CMDB CI Class Model plugin'or store app

Kubernetes extension classes (servicenow.com)

but it seems it does not and needs ITOM license, have tried on PDI and kubernetes classes were not added after installing the CMDB CI Class Models plugin.

can someone confirm this ?

I have checked this on PDI and observed that Kubernetes classes become available only after installing 'Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns' plugin. It is a free plugin and the only pre-requisites seems to be the activation of the free plugins 'CMDB CI Class Models' and 'Expanded Model and Asset Classes'.

But discovery is definitely the recommended method for automating the population of Kubernetes CIs.
