We have recently completed the integration of Tanium with ServiceNow. Currently, we already have other data sources for servers and computers, including Azure and AWS.
Recently, we encountered a duplicate CI issue where both Tanium and Azure were bringing in records for the same device, but with different serial numbers. After remediation, we retained the Tanium record as the primary CI.
However, we are now facing an issue with the name field:
- Azure is updating the name as AVD-AQ-IND
- Tanium subsequently updates it to AVD-AQ-IND.Network.LAN
Our requirement is to retain the name as AVD-AQ-IND once the CI has been remediated.
Note:
Please advise if setting a Reconciliation Rule with:
- Discovery Source: SG-Azure for the name field
- All other attributes from Tanium would have any adverse impact.
Our main dependency is on Tanium for creating and updating computer records. It is important that this change does not negatively impact existing computer records from Tanium.
