Need to display configuration items based on Category that is in another language in Service Portal

I have a reference qualifier on the report producer variable for my configuration item [cmdb_ci] as follows:

 

javascript:new getCIforIncidentRecordPorducer().getCI(current.variables.category.getDisplayValue());

 

My categories are set up for two languages, English and Japanese.  I have the translations in the choices table already.  This works for English but not for Japanese.  I do not know how to change this statement to see the Japanese category and get the correct ci list.
