Hi @ryno440
That's awesome that you're diving into ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals On Demand, especially as part of a career change that's a big step and you're on the right path!
You're Not Alone! It’s very common to do fine with lessons and then struggle when you hit the labs. Labs are where you're asked to think more independently and apply what you’ve learned which can feel overwhelming at first.
Lesson 7 typically involves Workflows, Approvals, or Catalog Requests, depending on the version of the course. These usually require:
Understanding of Form Design
Knowledge of Tables and Fields
Ability to Create Business Rules or Flows
Comfort navigating Service Catalog / Flow Designer / Workflow Editor
If you're struggling there, it's totally normal — you're getting into more hands-on configuration and logic.

Hi @ryno440
I'm not enrolled to that training so it's not clear what your struggle is. Please share the requirements and then what you did and we can compare it together.
Sometimes it requires impersonating for a user, when copy/pasting not even blank space is allowed it must be strictly 1:1 or if you didn't complete any of the previous steps it might be missing prerequisite... We all got stuck ourselves as well, don't you worry 😉 failure is a great learning opportunity and trust me when you happen to overcome it will be like a drug hahaha
/* If my response wasn’t a total disaster ↙️ ⭐ drop a Kudos or Accept as Solution ✅ ↘️ Cheers! */

Hi @ryno440 ,
first welcome to the ServiceNow world! 🎉
Lab 7 of the ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals course is often where new learners get stuck because it combines everything taught so far (lists, forms, tables, views, filters, etc.) into a single scenario as per my understanding.
Lab 7 covers this at high Level:
-
Creating and configuring a list or form layout.
-
Working with views, filters, or UI policies.
-
Modifying fields on a table (like
Incident
orChange
). -
Possibly creating a business rule or notification.
Lab 7 is a culmination lab → it wants you to apply:
-
Table and field creation / editing
-
Form layout / list layout configuration
-
Basic data model understanding
-
UI actions or policies
It will be good if you can provide more information where you stuck and what error you are facing so we can help with solution.
Please appreciate the efforts of community contributors by marking appropriate response as Mark my Answer Helpful or Accept Solution this may help other community users to follow correct solution in future.
Thank You
