Objective:
Leverage Now Assist AI to proactively identify, analyze, and recommend remediation for stale Configuration Items (CIs) to improve CMDB health and maintain trusted data.
Key Expectations:
- Detect CIs that have not been updated/discovered within a defined threshold.
- Identify likely causes (discovery issues, integration failures, ownership gaps, etc.).
- Prioritize stale CIs based on business impact and relationships.
- Recommend actions such as refresh, validation, retirement, or archival.
- Provide AI-generated summaries and cleanup insights.
Questions:
- Has anyone used Now Assist for CMDB to support stale CI identification or remediation?
- Are there any out-of-the-box capabilities or implementation patterns for this use case?
- Have you combined CMDB Health, CMDB Data Manager, and Now Assist for automated stale CI governance?
- What best practices do you recommend before retiring or archiving AI-flagged stale CIs?
