Hi,
Is there a way to automatically set the location of a discovered CI based on the IP address of the CI? I guess I would need a table which maps IP ranges to locations but not sure if that is the best way to do this.

Hi @Dewalt Kotze ,
Yes, you can use a custom table to map the locations to IP range and then use the table to set the location of CI.
There is another way, that is separate scheduled discovery job for each location so that we can set the location of CI accordingly.
If you have the feasibility to spare a custom table only for mapping IP ranges to location records, you can go ahead.

Hi,
There is a location field on the Discovery schedule that set the location on discovered CIs. So if you set up your schedules to match the ip-ranges of your locations then it will not require any extra mapping table.
Regards,
Niklas

Hi @Dewalt Kotze,
In discovery its recommended to create discovery schedules based on the datacenter location, so while configuring the discovery schedule you can set the location. All the CI's which are discovered by those schedules location will automatically map on CI.
