Standalone vs Multi-Tenant Service Instance in the CMDB

Looking for some guidance that I'm struggling to find information on.

We are working on maturing our CMDB in alignment with the CSDM 5 framework.  Company provides a mix of standalone solutions (single build/single customer) as well as multi-tenant solutions (single build/multiple customers) for customers.

For the purposes of this discussion - domain separation is not currently enabled, and let's assume it won't be turned on.

  1. What is the right way in the CMDB to reflect that the Service Instance is Multi-Tenant vs Standalone?
  2. What is the correct way to relate a customer to a single standalone instance?
  3. What is the correct way to relate multiple customers to a multi-tenant instance?
