Level: Strategy / outcome‑focused (business language)

Definition:
Business capabilities describe stable, high‑level abilities an organization must have to achieve its objectives—independent of how they’re implemented.

Examples:

• Order Management
• Customer Support
• Inventory Management
• Payments Processing

What it answers: Which application supports a business capability
Level: Business ↔ IT bridge

Definition:
A business application is a logical application entity that supports one or more business capabilities.

Examples:

• SAP Order Management → supports Order Management
