Hi All,
Thanks for all the great info in this forum. I have been working with the CSDM for the past few months and just getting to the stage where we have some useful information that could be used to extend the value of the CSDM into other areas of our organization. (we have focused on populating Business and Technical Services and Business Applications).
I have the following user story and I am wondering if anyone has done something similar? I believe using the CSDM as a guide for how to structure the wiki would be a massive improvement over what we have now and help create a common language between the dev and ops side of the business! Thoughts?
As a DevOps team member, I want to use the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to structure our wiki, So that we can maintain consistent documentation and improve collaboration.
Acceptance Criteria:
Guide and Template Creation:
- Create a guide in the Azure DevOps wiki that explains how to use CSDM for structuring documentation.
- Develop a template for pages that align with CSDM concepts (e.g., services, applications, configuration items).
- Ensure the template includes placeholders for relevant information (e.g., CI names, relationships, descriptions).
Integration with ServiceNow:
- Investigate integration options between ServiceNow and Azure DevOps.
- Explore APIs or connectors that allow automatic page creation in the wiki when new services or applications are added in ServiceNow.
- Aim for real-time synchronization to keep the wiki up-to-date.
