Admin (System Administrator) cannot update user passwords. The Password field in the User table is not even visible. Has anyone seen this before? I was recently upgraded to Istanbul Patch 5 but I noticed this a couple weeks ago before the upgrade. I not aware of any modifications to any of the Admin user settings (roles, groups etc.) but I'm not sure what the defaults should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Security admin role - In the base system, only the default System Administrator user has the security_admin role. Since it requires elevating privileges, the System Administrator does not have this role at login. After elevating privileges, the System Administrator user has the security_admin role for the duration of the user session.

Can you check the dictionary record of password field and check if there is any access control setup/

Also check your UI policies. I am also on Instanbul Patch 5, but I can see password field.

Hi Brian,

Can you please if user form is in which view mode, I think it's already there in default mode.

You might need to configure the form layout to get the password field.

Hello Brian,

Is this issue on your personal dev instance. If yes, I can take a look. Let me know.

The password field is available oob in the default view of user form and editable to admin. You need to first switch the view to default view and then update the password field (you can find it above the locked out field).
