Hi Everyone,
I would like to understand the possibility of working with epics from CWM.
I am familiar with the KB: KB2675470 explaining the current limitations.
Our use case is we would like to start just by rolling out CWM to replace Agile 2.0, for our teams who work with Epics/Stories. We would ideally like to not include EAP, save for teams who really require the more advanced team structure and the scaled agile ways of working.
What is the intended purpose of "Create new Epic" button on CWM workspace if this does not in fact create an Epic under the hood. Is it assumed that EAP will always be used to create Epics and then people will have to switch from EAP to CWM to continue work? TBH it is not very user friendly to try to create an Epic from CWM today and not see anything appear on the board.
Is ServiceNow planning to somehow enable "proper" creation of Epics through CWM, in a way that those could still be aligned with EAP?
Is the bottom line that you CANNOT use CWM without using EAP at the same time? I'd like to have clarity on this before we customize a lot of CWM...
Many thanks for any feedback on this,
Tom

Hi @Sunil B N ,
can you share more details on how this would work? Will you allow CWM users to see, create, edit sn_align_core_scrum_epic records from CWM workspace? (today, those cannot be displayed via connected work, since they are not tasks).
Many thanks,

Hi Tom,
Yes, you can see/create/update epic records in CWM workspace in future.
We will share more details in few weeks.

Will this be limited to epics, or will it include all planning items? For reference, our SAFe teams are wanting to see the Feature/Story relationship heirarchy on the CWM boards as they are in a Portfolio Configuration (epic > feature > story)
At the team level it is so important to see where stories roll up to be able to plan, prioritize, and group work in the pipeline.

Hi Angelina,
For now we plan to support Epic to Story hierarchy in CWM. Anything more is supported in EAP. However we do understand the use cases where teams uses Epic- Feature- Story and looking to support Story to "Parent Item" view in the future.
Thanks,
Alekhya
