Approval Email not being sent from Workflow

Hello,

I am new to creating approvals, and I would like some help regarding the APPROVAL NOTIFICATION EMAIL.  I was under the impression that the approval notification email is sent by default, I don't need to create one.

This is the workflow I created.

The workflow works; the ticket shows pending approvals, but the approver is not receiving the email.

Since your workflow is using the Approval Group activity, check this table:

sysapproval_group

 

You might want to read this page from ServiceNow, one thing I see when you said "This is not a catalog item, it is on our own design table" raises a possible potential issue...see screenshot below:

Approval - User activity doesn't seem to say that on the ServiceNow Docs page:

We use Approval User more than Approval Group...both can accept groups into the activities.  Try switching to Approval - User activity just to see if the results change for you.

- Have you checked the "Approvers" tab near the bottom of the RITM below the related list to see who the approvers were and if they are the accurate people?

- Have you checked the "System Mailboxes - > Sent" email folder in ServiceNow to see if any approval emails were sent?

- Check the users profile and make sure they don't have notifications disabled (or approval notifications) in the ServiceNow profile.

HI Steven,
Thank you for your response.  The Approvers are correct, I can see myself as approver and waiting for me to say APPROVED or REJECT.

I do not see the email on the SENT items.

Anything else I should do?

You should see something along these lines in the "Sent" folder of ServiceNow when an email was successfully sent:

Check the "System Notifications -> Notifications" area and look for "Approval Request" notification.  Make sure it's active and has information in it.  It should look something like this out of the box:

I didnt find an Approval Request notification, but I found something more interesting..

I went to the sysapproval_approver list, and I did not find my request.  

But If my request is not on the sysapproval_approver table, why is it in:
