Checkbox on catalog item forms

Hi all,

I have implemented some checkbox variables on a catalog item form. The second checkbox, when checked will display additional checkboxes below it. Now that pushes the third checkbox further down even when the additional checkboxes are not visible. Please see the image below. Has anyone faced this situation and know of a solution?

I think it's better OOTB option we have. no additional option given with container. Go with current avialable option and complete the form. Later if something came up you can update the form

Thanks for your 2 column layout suggestion. Even if I could not apply it to eliminate the gap between checkboxes as per my earlier attempt, I could apply that idea to change the layout like below and it looks great:
