Concern About Potential Manipulation of Solution Marking in the Community

Hi everyone,

I want to bring attention to an issue I've noticed in the community that I find very disheartening. I've come across a situation where it seems that certain members might be engaging in behavior that undermines the spirit of this platform.

Specifically, I've observed that @Ravi Gaurav  (profile attached) has been continuously responding to questions posed by a particular individual @SandeepKSingh , and in almost every instance, his answers are being marked as helpful and accepted as the solution. This pattern raises concerns, especially since there are often other contributors who provide valuable input, yet their answers aren't being acknowledged in the same way.

While I understand that certain responses may genuinely resonate more with the person asking the question, the consistency with which this is happening suggests that there might be something more going on—potentially a coordinated effort to boost reputation or gain recognition within the community.

This is particularly disheartening for experts
who have been working tirelessly in the community, dedicating their time and effort to genuinely help people. Seeing such behavior not only undermines their hard work but also affects the integrity of the community. These experts deserve recognition for their valuable contributions, and it’s heartbreaking to see their efforts overshadowed by what seems to be manipulative practices.

This community exists to support those genuinely facing challenges in their projects, and it's vital that we maintain fairness and ensure that all contributors are recognized for their efforts. Manipulating the system in this way is not just unfair; it goes against the very principles of collaboration and mutual assistance that this community stands for.

Let's work together to maintain the integrity of our community and ensure that all contributors are treated with fairness and respect.

Hi there,

When you observe any "strange" behavior, always good te report. Ofcourse with a bit of feedback.

Consider not doing this through a public post, though just by flagging the content. It might just be a misunderstanding or a coincidence in pattern, or just your view on things.
For example, I think its bad behavior to just simply copy/paste ChatGPT, to just comment what others are already commenting several hours or even days after, to "ask" having your answer marked as correct (even after months), or comment on everything without adding anything and not having the knowledge for it, etcetera. Because I think it is, doesn't mean its also so 😅.

The Community admins do look at what is flagged 👍

For example on a Community post:

Hi @Mark Roethof

Thank you for your perspective. It's important to maintain a constructive and supportive environment in any community. I agree that addressing concerns privately through appropriate channels, like flagging content, is often the best approach to avoid misunderstandings. It ensures that any issues can be reviewed and handled fairly by the admins.

Everyone's contributions to the community matter, and it's essential to engage with respect and sincerity. I'll keep this in mind moving forward. Thanks again for your feedback.

@Satishkumar B and I am so sorry to tell you don’t have leadership skills to help people to grow.. god bless you good luck

If you found my response helpful, I would greatly appreciate it if you could mark it as "Accepted Solution" and "Helpful."
Your support not only benefits the community but also encourages me to continue assisting. Thank you so much!

Firstly, I want to make it clear that my intention here is not to hurt anyone's sentiments or to accuse anyone without cause. The concerns I raised were based on my observations, and after posting this, a few people reached out to me privately, expressing similar thoughts.

Specifically, I've noticed that @SandeepKSingh has been consistently accepting solutions from a particular contributor, which has raised concerns among other community members. While it’s possible that these responses genuinely addressed the questions, the pattern has prompted some concerns about potential manipulation of the platform’s recognition system.

One aspect that adds to the confusion is that RGGuide’s profile lacks key information, such as their actual name and company affiliation, which might contribute to the perception that something isn’t right.

To ensure transparency and clear up any misunderstandings, I kindly request that the community admins, @David  and @Dan Bruhn  review the profiles in question. Specifically, verifying the user's actual name and linking it with their LinkedIn profile or company affiliation could help identify (IP) the profiles and provide clarity.

This community thrives on mutual respect, transparency, and fair recognition of contributions. My goal in bringing this up is to maintain the high standards that we all value here. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope we can resolve it constructively.

Thank you!

An example of what @Satishkumar B is pointing out appears to be:

https://www.servicenow.com/community/developer-forum/help-with-the-scenario/m-p/3026246#M1140565

where a solution was accepted that doesn't work in my testing. However, I don't know what Community admins can do about that.  For me, with anything I find on the internet is subject to question. Any solution here needs to be validated by the consumer.

[Edit]

the link I posted has a different OP and a revised client script and now has all three responses mark as Accepted. Neither of what is posted for a client script solution works without modification. The other suggestion lacks details but in general can work.  And all 3 do not generate a URL as requested.
