Converting emais as API calls to send out notifications using other platforms

Hi ,

 

I am trying to figure out alternatives to email notifications from service now as I am unable to use the srevice now SMTP or the google SMTP due to restrictions from my organization.

I am thinking of converting the email generated into an API and calling another app that can trigger emails for me. Similarly recieveing emails via API.

 

Has anyone tried this approach before?
