Default incident priority not working

Hi, I customised incident impact, urgency, and priority values. I also customised the Priority Lookup Definition to reflect those changes. Priority default value is set to 2, but whenever I create a new change, the value displayed is 5 - Planning, despite the lookup saying it should be 3 - Medium and the default priority value being 2 (3 - Medium). 5 - Planning is not even enabled...

Force Priority Calc is disabled. I'm on Helsinki patch 1. What am I missing here?

Did you check these checkboxes on your lookup definition? Make sure the "Run on Insert" is checked.

Please validate the default value for Priority on incident form. I removed 5-planning from incident form , configure choices> removed 5-planning, i also overide to false under related lists of priority in incident form and priority lookup definition rules and did as above , "Run on Insert" is checked., override fields as false

still not validating , as per data lookup definition :

set priority : default value to 4 , is it because my priority , type: integer and value: 4, should it be 4-low but in tables>incident i see priority column has type: integer

I solved the above by adding default value to 4 and overide: checked
