Hello @a41022639
Subject Person:
- Definition: The subject person is the individual who is the main focus of the HR case. This is the person about whom the HR case is concerned.
- Example Use Case: If an HR case is opened regarding an employee’s request for a leave of absence, the subject person would be the employee who is requesting the leave.
Opened For:
- Definition: The "opened for" person is the individual on whose behalf the HR case is created. This could be the same as the subject person or someone else acting on behalf of the subject person.
- Example Use Case: If an HR case is initiated by a manager for one of their team members, the "opened for" person would be the employee for whom the manager is creating the case. In this scenario, the manager is the one opening the case, but the "opened for" person is the team member.
Please accept my answer and give thumbs up, if it helps you.

I know the question above is old, but wouldn't the opened for and subject person always be the same person? Even in the example use case above where the manager is opening a case for an employee, the employee is the opened for person, and wouldn't the subject person ALSO be the employee since the case is on behalf of that employee? The manager in that case would fall in to the opened by category where as the employee would be both the opened for and the subject person? Just trying to see how or what use case would be a difference for the subject person and the opened for person. Thanks.

Regarding the opened for: In your example use case, if i understand , the opened for is still being set to employee( i mean team member). Then in this case both subject person and opened for set to "employee" . Based on the docs, i believe it should be set to "manager"? the second point.
4. Select the person responsible for the service request in the Opened for field.
- If the case is being created by the person making the request, the values for Subject person and Opened for are the same.
- If the case is being created for a different user, for example, a manager filing a case for an employee, use the choice list to select a different user.
