How can I not show the Announcement banner in the servicenow communities?

All, 

We have our custom theme that was applied to Servicenow Communities but the OOB announcement banner still appears when the users logs in. where is this banner code located . I have no idea on how this is injected in my theme. How can I not show this banner at all? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi,

The announcements come through the Service Portal > Announcements feature.

When you create an announcement you set the portal that the announcement should run on.

I'm not sure where you thought that creating a "theme" would prohibit the announcement from showing when it's portal specific?

Let me know if you need any more information, but that's the gist of it.

In other words I do not want to show announcements in the banner even if they are marked as Type 'BANNER'. The Communities portal of CSM has two types of announcements Global which are type 'Banner' and Forum Announcements which are of type 'Widget'. While creating these announcements I do not have an option to select the type. It is defaulted in the background. 

Now though I did not use the SNOW header and I used my own header , somewhere else this banner announcement code is being called and the banner is rendering which I do not want to happen. So if I know where this JS code is placed I can modify that so that banner wont show.

There is a business rules that is setting this type to Banner. I modified  the business rule and now it is not showing the banner. Thank you Allen.

how to remove this banner, it came when instance  upgrade to Xanadu version.
