Workspace advanced view filter - how to restrict search results like a reference qualifier?

Hi, I'd like to restrict the search results when using the advanced view filter on the workspace. Example "opened by" should only show results with sys class = user, right now it's showing everything. Anyone know how to achieve this? Thanks.
