How to do ITOM Application Discovery

Hello ITOm Experts,

Is Application discovery OOB , (NOT APPLICATION SERVICE i know they are Service mapping ) just Applications running . Are they discovered in horizontal using ITOM patterns or do we need to follow any separate steps ?

Hi @Nisha30 ,

Application will be discovered by OOB using Horizontal discovery on Host device discovery if the pattern is available for that.

example - any application like Jboss, Apache, Tomcat , IIS etc.

I hope you are looking for these , if you have any other things in mind, please explain with the use case and scenerio.

basically which place in Host does the Patterns look to find the Applications installed.

We have lot of in house applications and want to make sure they get discovered , ideally if the placement of such is known the build team will have them in that place to be discoverable.

SO are each application has separate patterns? How many are OOB
