I have a similar concern ...

There isn't an "automatic" requirement in our P1/P2 incident process to create a change (usually ECR or Standard).  It is a manual task, and often ignored by those managing their incident.

Having to document the change that resolved the incident seems to be easy to omit.  I would like to have something "pop up" asking if the user wants to create a change for the resolution of the incident.  Choosing YES would open a new change form.

The alternative would be to auto-populate a new ECR based on key words and conditions/updates in the incident so, essentially, the users wouldn't have to manually create a change.

Leaders in our organization want to eliminate having to document changes for certain incidents (rebooting a server, for instance).  I have been in battles over this.

Any advice?
