<User> had modified this field value - Geneva

With the upgrade to Geneva, we're able to make use of the functionality that indicates if a user has modified a field on a record that you have open. This is terrific.

However, the pop-up that indicates WHICH user is ... flaky? It's rarely the actual user that has made the change but often the current user, or sometimes the previous user that saved the record.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

Someone has modified the field on my record:

But wait, that's not actually the user:

So the Mobile UI plugin was already enabled - so that wasn't solving the problem.

I did log a ticket with SN () who were unable to re-produce the issue. When they came back to me I was unable to reproduce it either. They were able to find a problem (PRB658173) that may be related and they've attache my incident to that problem.

It's also possible that this is more of an issue in sub-production regions.

So, all we can do is wait and see what happens when we go live.

Sue,

One thing we noticed when testing Geneva is that the who part of the modify does tend to return "weird" results when we tested using impersonation. We'd see things like random users returned and whatnot. Are you seeing this when using impersonation, or is this during more normal usage??

I've seen it doing both. We did a "live" demo with two users and the wrong value returned.

To grab these screen prints, I did impersonation.

I'm just trying to figure out if there's a fix - which would be great or if I need to position this as "flaky" with our users.

I think it might be best to open a HI ticket with ServiceNow directly. We haven't seen anything amiss in real-life scenarios, but it does look like there's a problem open for it: PRB658173   (There's been some talk on other posts about enabling the Mobile UI plugin, but I haven't tried that)

Thanks - we're in test, so I can try the Mobile UI plugin before I go to HI.
