Moving incident records from one instance to another instance. What are possibilities of duplication
- Will there be any possibility that sys id of incident be same on both instances?
if yes, how to avoid duplicates if moving XML of incident records from one instance to another ?

Hi @Snehal13
Thanks for the update.
Yes Sys id ( 32 length), generated by system / instance for each record.
Now if you bring real incident in beta
1. Issue is with incident number, it may be duplicate.
2. Yes if you bring from XML, Sysid will be same of beta and Prod.
My recommendation, better to create the dummy data in beta , which similar to Prod instead of bringing that from Prod.

Hi @Snehal13
My first point, why you are moving the incident to another instance.
We avoid moving the transactional data.

we are having a prod and beta instance(dryn run test of any poc or scripts) so need to test few pocs on actual real world incidents, requests and that is where my question arises of moving the incidents to beta. How is the 32character sys id generated ? is it based on instance
