Need Work Flow help

When i change a field (date) on a work task record, how can i make a work flow to also change a field in a work order record match that same change?

I have a date field in my Work order task record. When this date field is set or changed i need a workflow or script to automatically also change a date field to match it in the parent work order.

What i need to do has nothing to do with the state flow of the record. I simply need a field on my work order to match a field on my work order task when it is changed.

Example:

Time and date field is set to 12:00pm on work order task

then

Time and date field is automatically populated is automatically populated with the same value on work order.
