Sidebar chat not showing in Activity Stream when posted

Hi all, 

 

We have upgraded to Vancouver in our Dev environment. In testing out the new features, I realized our sidebar chat is not posting to the activity stream when instructed to do so. 

 

I posted this message to the Activity Stream but nothing appears:

I checked Sys Properties and confirmed Sidebar is listed.

I also confirmed that the Activity Stream filter does not exclude either option as well.

Has anyone noticed any similar behavior and if so, what was the fix? Thanks!

Hi Julien,

 

Have you checked to see if it is showing in Workspace? What I have found is that Sidebar activity will not show in UI16 which is what most of our customers use. Sidebar discussions will only appear in Workspace. This is SN's way of pushing users towards Workspace and away from UI16 (per SN employee at our last SNUG).

 

Unfortunately, due to this, we had to disable the feature entirely.

Hey Newbie (good one :D)

We have upgraded to Washington DC and are experimenting the same behaviour, even when Sidebar discussions activities are included within the Activities.

Have you figured out why this is happening? Did you raise a Hi case?

Hi,

If you are seeing the issue in workspce please try setting the property "glide.activity.api_version" to 1.

If the issue is in native UI, Sidebar discussion tiles and Sidebar message tiles are only visible from workspace, but not the classic UI of record pages.

Hi @Julien ,

 

This is happening because the glide.ui.incident_activity.fields property is missing the sidebar to be included in the activity fields stream.

1. Please go to sys_properties table
2. Filter by name = glide.ui.incident_activity.fields
3. Append *Sidebar discussion*,*Sidebar posted message* to the value of the property
