Which datatype is used to creating rating field

I want to create a custom field with a rating.but I am not getting any idea which datatype should use for the rating .can anyone please guide me on this>

It depends upon how we are defining the rating.

It its just a simple 1 to 10 values we can go for Choices

You can have a radio button or Likert Scale.
