DPR - Creating a release from a Request or Record Producer

Hi, 

I am looking to setup a process where a release is triggered based on the submission of a record producer or a request item. The reason for this is that there are about 40 variables worth of information that must be documented, and we prefer not to add those as new fields to the DPR table. However, while we can trigger the creation of a release, the tasks associated to the template do not trigger. Has anyone looked to leverage DPR in this way? Everything I have read suggests ServiceNow wants user to start and do everything via the workspace, and their does not seem to be an external intake process (ritm/record producer) that will function well with DPR.

Interesting use case! I’ve never implemented this myself, but you’ll need to create a Flow that triggers the release—similar to what we have for Change in the OOTB system. Give it a try and see how it goes!
