How to Use Digital Product Release with Existing Projects and Epics?

Hi Everyone,

I've recently started using the Digital Product Release (DPR) application for release management in ServiceNow. I'm already working on a product and project with existing EPICs created using the rm_epic table from the Agile Development 2.0 plugin.

I’d like to add these existing epics to the Release Planning Board, but I’m running into issues:

  • When I try to use the Add Enhancements from Epics option, the list is empty.
  • I referred to the documentation, which mentions this functionality is for managing data from external tools. However, I couldn't find detailed guidance on how to add artifacts or check existing data within ServiceNow itself.

My main goal is to integrate DPR with our existing projects and epics without duplicating them in the Product Enhancement table used by DPR.

Does anyone know how to:

  1. Use DPR with existing epics from the rm_epic table?
  2. Ensure that the data aligns with the Release Planning Board without duplicating it in the Product Enhancement table?

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!|

While we didn't support this when the question was originally asked, we introduced a streamlined integration with Agile 2.0 in the Feb 2025 release. The way the new integration works is that (when enabled) any Scrum Release will create a Version in DPR and all Epics & Stories that are related to that Scrum Release will automatically be on the Release Scope page of a release record. A video demonstrating the feature is at: https://players.brightcove.net/6062814548001/RW1SKYqi_default/index.html?videoId=6369687118112

Are you able to create a similar video but for DPR + Jira? That would be immensely helpful

Could not agree more! I am having difficulty finding this since ~ 6 months of intermittent looking.

Adding this to our video backlog. Thanks for the suggestion!
