When using EAM with FSM, the configuration in the references below disables a fair amount of functionality that would make it difficult to benefit from FSM functionality including disabling the following:
- Google Maps
- Auto-assignment of tasks
- Use of Dispatch queue
- Assignment of tasks based on assignment group, skills or coverage areas
- Scheduling based on time zones, priorities, location of agents, skills
Questions:
How can we implement advanced dispatching with all these configurations turned off?
If we enable this functionality, what will the impact be to the Work Management view on EAM Workspace and Medical Asset Workspace?
EAM and CDM documentation and training point to the Enterprise Asset Management Workspace and the Medical Asset Workspace views.
If FSM is used with EAM, would the use of CSM/FSM configurable workspace be recommended?
Thank you,
Amy
Reference:
1. The EAM bootcamp mentions this in the configuring Risk & FSM at about the first minute
The Lab document lists a visuals of the configurations that need to be disabled for FSM and Risk.
2. Edit Field Service Management configurations for the Work management view :
3. The CDM training references the use of Advanced Dispatching as a key capability.
Configuration and Capabilities of Clin*cal Device Management (CDM) >
Implementation> Dispatcher workspace:
Configuration and Capabilities of Clin*cal Device Management (CDM) > Asset Servicing Capability for CDM>
Note: The word Clin*c is not permitted in this community

I have never used EAM before and therefore I can only guess and you should better discuss this with your sales contact.
From ServiceNow's perspective, I can imagine that the valuable FSM features are disabled (or have to be disabled) in the EAM context because they represent the USP of FSM. And if you want to the full feature set of FSM along with EAM you probably will need to entitle accordingly and pay for the extra subscriptions.
Kind regards
Maik

Hi @Maik Skoddow,
Thank you for writing back even you don't have experience with EAM. Your guess is as good as mine. Hopefully the documentation will catch up and resolve this issue in a future release. I will be sure to come back and update this post if I have a resolution relatively soon. Thank you for all that you do.
