Career journey and certification for a job

Hello, I'm Andrea Catarinicchia, a 19-year-old student. I'm really motivated to start learning ServiceNow and eventually get a job in the field. Some people have told me that I need to follow a career path and get certifications, but I don't know where to start or which area to focus on. My goal is to work with ServiceNow in the future. What career path and certifications should I pursue to get a job in this field?

Hi @andreacata,

Welcome. You've got an exciting journey and career ahead!

The best place to start is ServiceNow new branded 'ServiceNow University' site (formally ServiceNow learning).

From here you can walk through different career paths and associated free courses to help you.

Eg Developer or Implementer or Product Owner etc....

Take a look here... it has everything you need: https://learning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/pages/career-journey?id=journey

Please just shout out if I can help any further.

Hi , @andreacata  start with CSA , that is the admin part then move into development part and eventually you will figure it out that which field is good for you in serviceNow. explore all the things to know but dive deep into which field you have interest.

Pleasure @andreacata.

My recommendation would be to start with the System Administrator career path - reason being you'll learning how to use and navigate around the tool and as you feel comfortable with the basics, these skills easily transfer and help when progressing to the other career paths.

Whether you're wanting to go into the more technical and hands-on path such as a Developer or Implementer, or if you want more of a management/owners ship career (Product owner or Project Management), the 'Sys Admin' is the place to start for sure...

Okay, thank you for all the responses. I would like to work 6 to 8 hours each day and have a mentor. Is it possible to have one?

Thank you again for your response.
